About Park Green Surgery

Park Green Surgery is one of the leading GP practices in Macclesfield and it is located at Water’s Green Medical Centre, Sunderland Street. As one of the town’s six GP practices, all located within the Medical Centre, we collectively care for over 65,000 local people.

Park Green Surgery was formed as a doctor’s surgery in the 1700s. Originally operating out of a Grade II listed building, Park Green House, a building of special historical interest, before moving to the purpose-built Waters Green Medical Centre in 2006.

The surgery has seen lots of changes since its establishment, particularly since the founding of the NHS in 1948. Moving forwards, we continue to look after the health and wellbeing of our 12,500 patients and continue working alongside the other practices, providing an easy-to-access, efficient healthcare service for the residents of Macclesfield, now and in the future.

Practice Charter

At Park Green Surgery we operate as a team with a well-balanced mixture of skills and strengths developed over the years in response to changing needs and demands.

We are working from a modern building with up to date physical and organisational Facilities Management with excellent parking, disabled access, Health and Safety, Infection Control and Fire Protection.

We have a very democratic, open practice with a high proportion of partners and a strong ethos of training, mutual learning and communication.

We meet regularly not just as doctors, but also with our in-house teams of Nurses, external teams of Health Visitors, District Nurses, Palliative Care teams as well as Social Care. We also meet as a whole practice team for training and SEA review.

We have a strong training background, having been a Training Practice for over 20 years with 2 GP Trainers, and also now we are involved in training undergraduates and Foundation Doctors.

We are active in our local GP ‘federation’ as members of the Vernova CIC, a GP provider organisation covering all East Cheshire practices.
